平顶山历史悠久，文化底蕴深厚。早在一万年以前的旧石器时代，这里就有古人类活动。众多的裴李岗文化遗址表明，约在7000年前，这一带就出现了较大的部落群。卫东区蒲城店龙山文化古城遗址的发现，说明5000年前我们的祖先就在此建立了城镇和村落。 Pingdingshan has a long history and profound cultural heritage.
