PARIS, June 18-- The Republic on the Move Party (LREM) led French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday won a large majority in the National Assembly, the lower house of parliament in a second and final round of legislative competition that cleared the way for France's youngest top official to control the country's political power over five-year term. Based on partial vote count made by Kantar Sofres-onepoint pollster, the LREM alone won 315 seats, more than 289 seats needed for a majority in the 577-member National Assembly. |
