Police in India are investigating a passenger train derailment that killed 23 people Saturday. Officials say at least six coaches of the Kalinga-Utkal Express derailed and hit each other in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Railway spokesman said the cause of the accident was not immediately known. Local volunteers helped police free passengers who were trapped in the wreckage. Doctors at a local hospital say most of the injured are in stable condition.
