ROME, Aug. 22-- Emergency teams raced against time on Tuesday to rescue victims of a 4.0-magnitude earthquake that hit the Italian southern island of Ischia on Monday evening. The temblor killed at least two women, and wounded 39 people, according to latest reports. Rescuers kept working all throughout the night to save three young brothers from under the rubble of a collapsed house. The children were reportedly aged at 6, 4 and 7 months old. The youngest child was pulled out alive at about 4 a.m. local time, the Civil Protection agency said. |
