VIENNA, Oct. 15-- The People's Party (OVP) led by Austria's young Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz becomes the strongest party in the parliament by receiving 31.7 percent of the vote in Sunday's election, the latest projection by pollster SORA for ORF showed on Sunday. The Center-left SPO led by Chancellor Christian Kern scored 27 percent of the vote, rising to the second largest party of the parliament. The right wing populist Freedom Party of Austria (FPO) led by Heinz-Christian Strache won 25.9 percent of the vote in the election, according to the projection. |
