NAIROBI, Dec. 16-- Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday launched the upgraded Inland Container Depot (ICD) on the outskirts of Kenyan capital Nairobi to promote efficient transportation of bulk cargo from the port of Mombasa to the interior. The state-of-the-art inland cargo handling facility that was upgraded by the China Roads and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) is expected to decongest the port of Mombasa while lowering the cost of transporting goods. Kenyatta said the launch of the ICD was in line with his government's quest to modernize transport infrastructure in order to stimulate economic growth. |
