ANKARA, March 4-- The U.S. embassy to Turkey said in a statement on Sunday that it will be closed to public on March 5 because of a security threat. The embassy, however, did not specify what security threat had prompted the closure decision. It advised U.S. citizens in Turkey to be aware of their own security when visiting popular tourist sites and crowded places. According to the statement, only emergency services will be provided on Monday, while visa interviews and other routine services will be cancelled. The U.S. embassy will announce its reopening once it resumes services, the statement added. |
