BEIJING, May 26-- Chinese Vice Premier Hu Chunhua on Saturday called for more technological innovation to modernize the country's agricultural sector. Hu, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks during an inspection tour to the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Agricultural tech innovation should be treated as the core in agricultural and rural development, and favorable policies should be made to support it, Hu said. The evaluation mechanism for scientific research in the agricultural sector should be improved so that research achievements can be better applied, he said. |
