BEIJING, June 23-- Upon the approval of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, the Communist Youth League (CYL) will convene its 18th national congress from June 26 to 29. The congress will hear and review a report by the 17th CYL Central Committee, amend the CYL constitution and elect the 18th Central Committee, according to an official statement Saturday. The preparatory work for the congress is going well, the statement said. With over 8 million members, the CYL is the organization of youths with progressive ideas under the leadership of the CPC. It acts as the assistant and reserve for the CPC. |
