考点规范练12(必修2 Module 6) .阅读理解 A Ask any British female to name a kung fu movie, and after a lot of thought she’s likely to answer Kung Fu Panda, the animated American movie, which isn’t strictly a kung fu movie at all. In Britain kung fu simply isn’t very well-known or popular. And those who do watch martial arts(武术)movies are 99 percent likely to be male.British females avoid martial arts movies. To our mind, they are an hour and a half of cruel male fighting, and about as fun as watching paint dry. After watching the kung fu movie Ip Man,I’ve concluded that this attitude is a huge shame.Though it was my first ever kung fu movie,it’s made me aware that Chinese martial arts movies rival and even surpass American action movies. And I think most British females would agree with me if they watched Ip Man. My reasoning is straightforward:Chinese kung fu movies are less about senseless violence and more visually attractive than Hollywood action movies. Both factors are female vote winners. Unlike American action movies,Chinese martial arts movies do not show violence purely for violence.Kung fu revolves around a strict morality code. The hero only fights as a last resort. This morality code was central to Ip Man’s plot,a semi-biographical account of the life of Bruce Lee’s celebrated kung fu master,Ip Man. |
