第4期Practice听说训练录音材料 Part A: Reading Aloud The South Pacific. The name is familiar, but 230 years after Captain Cook’s epic voyages, this vast ocean remains little known. In the endless blue, isolated islands harbor life that’s rarely seen. And these are some of the most pristine waters of any ocean. The turquoise seas and picture-postcard islands look like heaven on Earth. But all is not what it seems. Part B:Role Play W: Doctor White, do you have the book Sunset? M: Yes, why do you ask, Linda? W: Could I borrow it? I’ve been wanting to read it for a long time. Last Saturday, I went to the biggest bookstore in town, only to find that it had been sold out. M: Yes, I can lend it to you after Jane returns it to me. She borrowed my book last Friday. W: Thanks a lot. I can’t wait to read it. I’ve read three of this writer’s books and thought they were all well done. Where did you get the book? I thought it had been sold out everywhere. M: I bought it online. And I booked it before it was published. W: It’s a good idea to order it in advance, especially for popular books. M: Well, I guess it is. But I’d like to warn you it’s not as good as they say. Part C:Story Retelling Three rich ladies met every day by a river. They sat there and talked the whole day. Once the three ladies quarreled. One of them said, “Look, how white and beautiful my hands are!” Another one said, “My hands are more beautiful.” The third one said, “Mine are the most beautiful ones.” An old woman beggar came up to them. “Beautiful ladies,” she said, “I’m old and can’t work. I’m hungry. Please give me something to eat.” |
