Black History Month is celebrated every February, and it recognizes the contributions African-Americans make to the world. More than 25 million people have seen the video since it was released on Sunday night. The video was shared nearly 500,000 times on Facebook. And I’m here to celebrate black history.” “The Washington Post” reports that McLaurin submitted a petition(请愿书) to the White House in 2017, asking to meet with Obama. She wrote about all the things she remembered from her life — like living without electricity and the first Ford car she saw coming off the assembly line(装配线). “I didn’t think I would live to see a Colored President,” she wrote. “I know you are a busy man, but I wish I could meet you.” |
