我在英语里发现了我的热情(I found my passion in English) I did not like English. However, one experience at my age of five completely changed my attitude toward English. My well-to-do parents are good at spoken and written English. My dad is a financial expert, and my mom is a professor of modern art. We are living in China. When I was around five years old, my parents often traveled to London, UK. They always said to me, "I love you, Vicky..." One day I was playing around in a park in China. I saw a beautiful foreign girl crying. It seemed to me that she was looking for someone. When she saw me, she ran towards me. She looked very cute wearing her pinky t-shirt, short skirt and red leather shoes. She looked upset and worried. She started talking to me in English. Gee! I knew very little about English at that time. I knew almost nothing but "I love you." So I said to the girl, "I love you." To my surprise, she gradually stopped crying and looked at me. "My name is Isabel. What is your name?" She asked with a smile. "Vicky," I replied. She started calling my name and said, "Vicky, help me ..." I guessed that she would have lost in the park, and I wanted to help her find her parents. Therefore, I took Isabel's hand and found a Chinese policeman within the park. Very quickly, Isabel's parents found their lost daughter. They were so grateful that they kept kissing on my cheeks. I felt very happy about helping Isabel find her parents. Isabel gave me kisses with big hugs and said, "Vicky, where do you live? I want to..." GOD! |
