Its breakfast time. Forget stacks of pancakes covered in maple syrup and push aside your love of grits. As theres really no place for any of these items in the classic full English breakfast. So grab your knife and your fork, and come with me, as we feast our eyes on Britains most treasured national dish.

Maple syrup是枫糖浆,加拿大有名的特产,美国人特别喜欢浇在pancake上吃,也有很多人会跟着bacon一起吃。Grits是粗玉米粉,也是美国人早餐经常吃的食物。不过正宗的英式早餐可见不到他们哦,一会儿Kate就会一一给我们介绍地道的full English breakfast里包含了什么。

Sausages

The full English breakfast is the perfect place for you to show off your sausage. And no, Im not talking sausage patties or hotdog wieners. Instead, we prefer a simple Lincoln or Cumberland sausage, fried or grilled.

Patty是那种finely chopped meat or fish formed into a small round flat shape,可以翻译成小肉饼。Wiener也叫做frankfurter,是一种long thin smoked sausage with a reddish-brown skin, often eaten in a long bread roll as a hot dog,就是热狗里夹的香肠啦。(看到wiener想歪的孩子自动面壁去!)不过full English breakfast不用这两种sausage哦,他们更喜欢Cumberland sausage (A very long, spicy pork sausage traditionally made in the north of England. It is usually twisted into a spiral before cooking.)或者Lincolnshire sausage (这个到底是什么大家可以去Wikipedia查阅)。
