The preparation of some traditional food requires not only a very long time but also a lot of patience, both of which many modern people simply cannot afford. Model Response: Its a complicated question. I guess families choose to pass down something valuable or meaningful for various reasons. For example, some hand-made jewellery is usually passed down from grandmother to mother and then to the daughter as dowry when she is getting married in a traditional society. On the males side, the grandfathers medal for bravery in the Second World War or a big trophy from a national sports competition is very likely to be handed down for many generations as an encouragement and inspiration for the offspring. |
