2013年职称英语考试综合类词汇解析-冠词

　　冠词是一种虚词，本身不能独立使用，只能附着在一个名词上帮助说明这名词的含义。英语中的冠词有两个，一是定冠词the ;另一是不定冠词，有两个形式，a或an【a用在以辅音开头的词前，an用在以元音开头的词前】。

　　1.不定冠词的基本用法

　　用来表示一这个数量，意思和one差不多：

　　The plan will be ready in a week or two. 计划一两周内就可定好。

　　也可用来表示某一个：

　　Even a child can answer this question. 就是小孩子也能回答这个问题。

　　2.定冠词的基本用法

　　表示某个或某些特定的人或物：

　　Give me the book . 把那本书给我。

　　Where are the other comrades? 其他同志在哪里?

　　第二次提到某东西时：

　　There is a book on the desk and the book is mine. 桌子上有一本书，那本书是我的。

　　表示世界上独一无二的东西：

　　the sun , the moon , the globe , the world , the sky , the universe .

　　和一个形容词连用，代表一类人或东西：

　　the rich，the poor，the deaf，the blind，the dead，the oppressed，the unemployed等。
