Passage 3 The importance and focus of the interview in the work of the printand broadcast journalist is reflected in several books that have been writtenon the topic. Most of these booksas well as several chaptersmainly inbut notlimited tojournalism and broadcasting handbooks and reporting textsstress theDOUB LE_QUOTATIONhow to aspects of journalistic interviewing rather than the conceptualaspects of the interviewits contextand impressions. As we knowin journalism as inother fieldsmuch can be learned from the systematic study of professionalpractice. Such study brings together evidence from which broad generalizedprinciples can b e developed. There isas has been suggesteda growing body of research literature in journalism and broadcastingbut verylittle significant attention has been devoted to the study of the interviewitself. On the other handmany general texts as well as numerous research articles oninterviewing in fields other than journalism have been written. Many of thesebooks and articles present the theoretical and empirical(经验的)aspectsof the interview as well as the training of the interviewers. Unhappilythisplentiful general literature about interviewing pays little attention to thejournalistic interview. The fact that the general literature on interviewingdoes not deal with the journalistic interview seems to be surprising for tworeasons. Firstit seems likely that most people in modern Western societies aremore familiarat least in a positive mannerwith journalisticinterviewing than with any other form of interviewing. Most of us are probablysomewhat familiar with the clinical interviewsuch as thatconducted by physicians and psychologists. In these situations the professionalperson or interviewer is interested in getting information necessary for thediagnosis(诊断)and treatment of the person seeking help. Another familiar situationis the job interview. Howeververy few of us have actually been interviewed personally by themass mediaparticularly by television. And yetwe have a vividacquaintance with the journalistic interview by virtue of our roles as readerslistenersandviewers. Even sotrue understanding of the journalistic interviewespeciallytelevision interviewsrequires thoughtful analysis and even studyas thisbook indicates. 1、The main idea of the first paragraph is that____. Ageneralized principles for journalistic interviews are the chiefconcern for writers on journalism Bconcepts and contextual implications are of secondary importance tojournalistic interviewing Cimportance should be attached to the systematic study ofjournalistic interviewing Dpersonal experiences and general impressions should be excluded fromjournalistic interviews 2、Much research has been done on interviews in general ____. Abut journalistic interviewing as specific field has unfortunatelybee n neglected Bthough the study of the interviewing techniques hasnt receivedmuch attention Cso the training of journalistic interviewers has likewise beenstrengthened Dand there has also been a dramatic growth in the study ofjournalistic interviewing 3、Westerners are familiar with the journalistic interview,____. Abut most of them wish to stay away from it Band many of them hope to be interviewed some day Cbut most of them may not have been interviewed in person Dand many of them would like to acquire a true understanding of it 4、Who is the interviewee in a clinical interview? AThe psychologist. B. The physician. CThe journalist. DThe patient. 5、The passage is most likely a part of____. Aa news article Ba preface Ca research report Da journalistic interview Keys to Passage 3 C A C D B
