A peaceful and even timorous hobbit, Frodo is by no means a traditional hero. He is no braver than Aragon, nor wiser than Gandalf. Occasionally he will be lured by the power of the Ring, which indicate that his mind is no stronger than ordinary. But it is this little people, this hobbit that assumes the role of the Ring-bearer, takes up the responsibility and succeeds to bring Middle-earth the precious peace. For Frodo, he succeed because he is faced with adversity: namely, the fear that his beloved hometown Shire will be endangered. For Frodo, he longs for adventure besides his wealthy living-style.
