With the growth of global networks in such areas as economics and communication, there is no doubt that every aspect of society -- including education, politics, the arts, and the sciences -- will benefit greatly from international influences. The way people look, dress, and act reveal their attitudes and interests. You can tell much about a societys ideas and values by observing the appearance and behavior of its people. g) 人的外貌就是外表和穿着，人的举止就是动作，这些都能揭示人的态度和兴趣。比如喜欢穿运动服的人可能就比较喜欢锻炼参加某种体育运动。喜欢穿正式服装的人可能比较喜欢社交。 h) 从人的外貌来看，外貌可以体现一个社会的很多问题。比如：阿拉伯国家的女人不能露脸，说明这些社会的女人地位高; 法国人穿着随便休闲，说明他们很浪漫。另外，外貌还能体现一个社会的变化，比如：几十年前在中国穿衣服都很差不多而且很传统，说明那时候的人想法很偏传统conventional而且不敢表达自己的追求与个性，但现在这种想法已经消失了，服装很多样。说明现在的中国社会比较tolerance i) 个人的兴趣与社会的取向不一定相同。个别人行为十分hostile不代表这个社会的主流都是对外国人很hostile，其实结果刚好相反。在独裁autocratic社会里可能个人的兴趣之类与社会一致性好，但是在民主社会里差别就会很大。比如美国包容了许多国家的文化，但看其中任何一个都不是美国主流的文化。而且我们不得不承认有时我们的眼睛会欺骗我们 |
