[复制链接]

  本课您将学到:小词as用处多,asas比喻法

Thousands of shooting stars(流星) provided(提供) a dazzling(使人眩目的) light show that amazed veteran(老手) and novice(新手) stargazers(看星星的人) alike(同样地) as the Leonid meteor shower(狮子座流星雨) made the moonless sky appear to rain light. At the peak(高峰) of the shower, as many as 1,250 meteors per hour streaked(使留下条痕) overhead.

About 150 Chinese who gathered at midnight on the roof(屋顶) of a 550-year-old Ming Dynasty stone observatory(天文台) in Beijing were overjoyed(狂喜的) when the first meteor tore(撕扯) across the sky leaving an ephemeral(短暂的) fiery(燃烧的) trail in its wake(尾波).

The meteors are called Leonids because they appear to come from the direction of the constellation Leo(狮子座). Astronomers(天文学家)expect another such shower in 2099.
