GMAT数学各类知识盘点
<p> 对于中国考生而言,<span word="GMAT">GMAT</span>数学知识并非最难的部分,很多学生经过一定时间的准备,都能获得不错的分数。但从另一个角度而言,这也就恰恰成为了中国学生伤不起的部分,因为一旦丧失自己最有优势、最有把握的部分,那么结果往往会很受伤。</p><p> 一、语言问题</p><p> 在<span word="GMAT">GMAT</span>数学部分的解题过程中,题目语言通常是国内考生们首先需要面对的大问题。即使题目本身仅仅相当于中国初中数学水平,但一旦使用复杂的英文语句去阐述,同学们往往搞不清数量之间的关系。但对于语言问题,如果更加细分地去区别到底题目语言的难点在哪里的话,会发现一般可分为三类:第一、英文词汇不够;第二、数学词汇不够;第三、数量关系的表达方式不熟悉。</p><p> 第一类问题所造成的错误,主要体现在考生不知道某些英文名词的意思,从而完全不清楚题目所描述的事物是什么或过程怎样进行。例如下面这道例题:</p><p> 例1:<span word="A">A</span> <span word="quarter">quarter</span>, <span word="a">a</span> <span word="dime">dime</span>, <span word="a">a</span> <span word="nickel">nickel</span>, <span word="and">and</span> <span word="a">a</span> <span word="penny">penny</span> <span word="are">are</span> <span word="placed">placed</span> <span word="in">in</span> <span word="a">a</span> <span word="box">box</span>. <span word="One">One</span> <span word="coin">coin</span> <span word="is">is</span> <span word="drawn">drawn</span> <span word="from">from</span> <span word="the">the</span> <span word="box">box</span> <span word="and">and</span> <span word="put">put</span> <span word="back">back</span> <span word="before">before</span> <span word="a">a</span> <span word="second">second</span> <span word="coin">coin</span> <span word="is">is</span> <span word="drawn">drawn</span>. <span word="In">In</span> <span word="how">how</span> <span word="many">many</span> <span word="different">different</span> <span word="ways">ways</span> <span word="can">can</span> <span word="two">two</span> <span word="coins">coins</span> <span word="be">be</span> <span word="drawn">drawn</span> <span word="so">so</span> <span word="that">that</span> <span word="the">the</span> <span word="sum">sum</span> <span word="of">of</span> <span word="the">the</span> <span word="values">values</span> <span word="of">of</span> <span word="the">the</span> <span word="two">two</span> <span word="coins">coins</span> <span word="is">is</span> <span word="at">at</span> <span word="least">least</span> 25 <span word="cents">cents</span>?</p><p> <span word="A">A</span>. 9 <span word="B">B</span>. 7 <span word="C">C</span>. 6 <span word="D">D</span>. 5 <span word="E">E</span>. 4</p><p> 题目问有多少种方式两种硬币之和至少25分。如果学生不清楚<span word="quarter">quarter</span>、<span word="dime">dime</span>、<span word="nickel">nickel</span>和<span word="penny">penny</span>分别对应着25美分、10美分、5美分和1美分,则很难能做起这道题。要解决这类问题,学生需要更大量的单词积累。就数学而言,学生尤其要重视一些常出应用题的知识模块,其周边的单词非常重要。例如概率问题中与赌博相关的单词,硬币的两面<span word="head">head</span>和<span word="tail">tail</span>、骰子<span word="die">die</span>和<span word="dice">dice</span>、扑克的花色<span word="spade">spade</span>、<span word="heart">heart</span>、<span word="diamond">diamond</span>和 <span word="club">club</span>等等。</p>
